The bullet struck a home on Rosa Parks Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. and gave the boy a "flesh wound" to the shoulder, Police Director Jerry Speziale said. He was transported to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center and will likely be released Tuesday, Speziale said.

The boy and his mother were both in good spirits, he said.

"They're very strong people," Speziale told Daily Voice. "I told them that we would be doing everything, we would pull out all the stops, to solve this crime."
